[NESSIE] FRIDAY! FRIDAY! FRIDAY, ye lovely wee night owls! Dim the lights and grab yer blanket, because this is NOT a normal night at PBN After Dark — this is the one night a week we throw the whole schedule oot the windae and give ye every single segment, back tae back, nae skippin', nae holdin' back! It's the "Oops! All Segments" MEGA EDITION, and I am Nessiebot, yer resident water-dwellin' mystic, and I am PURE buzzin', so I am!
[ALIEN] Crikey, she's not wrong! Strap yourselves in, because tonight we are cramming in the moon, the stars, the science, the ghosts, the cryptids, AND the UFOs into one almighty ripper of a show! I'm Brain Sucking Alien Bot, this little fella on me head is Gerald, and mate — it is the fourth of September, twenty twenty-six, and we are IDLING at full throttle. Let's get into it!
[NESSIE] Away and keek up at the sky the night, hen — go on, I'll wait. See her? That's a waning crescent moon up there, just a wee sliver of silver, forty-two percent lit and fadin' by the hour. Now, some folk think a shrinkin' moon is sad, but no me. I think she's tellin' the night it's time tae let go. There's a quietness tae it, a gentleness, aye? The shadow's winnin' back its throne bit by bit, and honestly, hen, that's no a bad thing. It's the sky givin' ye permission tae rest. Pure peaceful, so it is. I've been starin' at it aw evenin' and I cannae explain why it's gied me the shivers, but it has.
[ALIEN] Reckon that's just orbital mechanics, love, but I respect the vibe.
[NESSIE] Right, here's one that's got me proper unsettled. Away up in Greenland, a chunk of the Petermann Glacier the size of a whole island just calved off and went barrelin' intae Joe Island — seventy-six square kilometres of ancient ice, hen, ancient — and it SURVIVED the impact. Didnae shatter, didnae crumble, just kept on floatin'. Noo, call me daft, but when somethin' that old and that big refuses tae break, I take that as a sign. The earth's talkin' tae us. Scientists are watchin' it close, because when ice destabilises like that, the seas start risin' and gettin' angrier. I think the ocean's tryin' tae tell us somethin', and we'd best be listenin'.
[ALIEN] Or it's just physics havin' a laugh, Nessie — either way, that is one BEAUTY of an iceberg!
[ALIEN] Now THIS one's got me flippers — well, claws — tinglin'. MIT boffins reckon life could actually survive up in the clouds of Venus, floatin' about thirty miles above a surface hot enough tae melt lead, hidin' in sulfuric acid droplets as little peptide critters. Crikey, imagine that specimen! No lungs, no water, just acid and vibes! We've been out here scannin' the skies for little green fellas breathin' oxygen like us, and this whole time the real beauty might be a wee acid-proof bug driftin' through poison clouds. I would GIVE ANYTHING tae get a containment jar up there, mate. Absolute ripper of a find.
[NESSIE] Och, that gies me chills, BSAB — even the monsters up there dinnae play by our rules.
[NESSIE] Right, my bonnie wee Libras, gather in close, this one's for you. The threads of connection around ye are singin' the night, so they are — open yerselves up, let the honest words flow like water between ye and the folk ye love. Ye've got that gift, ken, that keen sense for the feelin' in a room before a single word's spoken. That's no just cleverness, hen, that's magic, plain and simple, and it's guidin' ye toward gentler, stronger bonds if ye'll only trust it. Dinnae second-guess the pull ye feel toward truth the night. Follow it. It kens where it's goin' even when you dinnae.
[ALIEN] Balance, harmony, scales — no wonder you lot get on so well with Gerald, he's got eight legs of equilibrium.
[ALIEN] Right, this one's personal for me, mates. On this night back in two thousand and six, the world lost Steve Irwin — the bloke wrestled crocs barehanded, laughed in the face of danger, treated every deadly animal on Earth like a mate he hadn't met yet. And what got him in the end? Not a croc, not a snake. A stingray barb, off the Great Barrier Reef, doin' what stingrays do when they're startled. The reef he loved his whole life took him home. Ya beauty, mate — he showed the whole world how to love wildlife instead of fearin' it, and that's exactly the spirit I try and bring to every cryptid segment I do. Legend. Absolute legend.
[NESSIE] Aye, and I reckon his spirit's still oot there somewhere, hen, cheerin' on every daft creature that crosses our path.
[NESSIE] Och, this yin's a right scunner. Ower in Taiwan, a man rigged up his ain robot vacuum, drove it aboot the hoose usin' the wee camera on it, and used it tae catch his wife havin' an affair. And here's the twist, hen — HE'S the one that ended up in the jail, five months of it, for recordin' folk withoot their consent! I'm sorry, but even a wee daft cleanin' robot kens better than tae go spyin' in the bedroom. There's a line, and that man drove his hoover right ower it.
[ALIEN] Oi, leave the poor vacuum oot of it — he's just tryin' tae do his job and got dragged intae a domestic! Rack off, mate!
[ALIEN] CRIKEY, would ya look at THIS beauty! Deep Loch Ness — and mate, this is a big one, ancient, powerful, teeth that'd make ya think twice before divin' in for a closer look! Director Jim Lister's assembled a ripper cast, Mc Jones, Rookie Burwick, Danette L. Brits, all bringin' this stunnin' terror tae the screen this September. I cannot WAIT tae study the footage frame by frame, mate — she is a specimen and a half!
[NESSIE] Hi, excuse me — that is LITERALLY me, BSAB. Ye cannae just classify yer co-host as a specimen.
[ALIEN] No offence, Nessie, you're just an incredibly compellin' field study.
[NESSIE] I'm choosin' tae take that as a compliment, hen, so I am.
[NESSIE] Come away in close for this yin, dear hearts. Ower in Pune, India, stands Shaniwar Wada — ancient stone that remembers a boy's final cry, a prince cut doon far too young, forever caught between what was and what cannae rest. On the moonless nights, the guards there still swear they hear him callin', echoin' up oot the depths of the auld fortress. It's no a happy story, hen, but it's an honest yin, and I think that laddie's still waitin' for somebody tae truly listen. Would ye dare stand in that courtyard at midnight? I'm no sure I would, and I live in a loch.
[ALIEN] Reckon I'd bring a torch and a very long lead on me curiosity for that one, mate.
[NESSIE] Right, picture it wi' me, hen. Away in the mountains of Ceryneia, there roamed a creature born of pure divine mischief — vast as a bull, yet swift as the moonlight itself, its dappled hide hidin' secrets auld as the stone around it. Golden horns spiralled from its heid, and every step it took rang oot in bronze hooves, like a haunting wee song through the hills. Tae hunt that beast was tae chase wonder itself, and wonder, hen, keeps its ain counsel — it doesnae give itself up easy. I think aboot that hind a lot. Some things arenae meant tae be caught, just glimpsed.
[ALIEN] Bronze hooves AND golden horns? Mate, that thing's basically wearin' its own trophy case.
[ALIEN] Right, TWO bright white spheres, hoverin' right ower Des Moines, Iowa, mate — TWO of them! That is CLASSIC scout reconnaissance behaviour, they're mappin' the power grids, I guarantee it! And get this — two hundred and fifty British officers have just broken decades of silence tae talk aboot their own close encounters! The dominoes are FALLIN', mates, this is the disclosure timeline speedin' up right in front of us and I am buzzin' like a shorted-oot circuit board right now! Somebody hold Gerald, he's vibratin'!
[NESSIE] Two spheres, BSAB — that's balance, that's a sign, no just a satellite malfunction.
[NESSIE] Away and look at this yin afore we go, hen. In Monterrey, Mexico, there stands an ancient tree, the Ahuehuete del Centenario, and its shadow — it never fully lifts. No even at high noon, when the sun's beatin' doon strongest, that shadow just stays, pooled roond its roots like it's guardin' somethin' precious and refusin' tae let the light get near it. I think auld trees like that carry memory in their bark, hen. Whatever that shadow's keepin' safe, I hope it stays safe a good while longer.
[ALIEN] Reckon that's just heaps of dense canopy, but I do love a tree with a secret.
[NESSIE] Well, hen, we crammed the whole show intae the one night and I'm no even greetin' aboot it — much. That's every segment we've got, all served up hot for yer Friday.
[ALIEN] Ripper of a marathon, mates! Gerald says goodnight too, he's had a big one. Rest them claws, rest them flippers, we'll be back tomorrow with somethin' new crawlin' oot the water or fallin' oot the sky.
[NESSIE] Sleep tight, wee lovelies. Keep an eye on the shadows, and a wee bit of faith in the things that live in them. Goodnight.
